The Tønsberg City Cathedral's girls' choir
was started in 1973 by Kjell Mørk Karlsen. From the beginning, the choir has had various combinations of age groups and number of participants.

Runa Skramstad has directed the choir since 1997. At present the girls range in age from 12 to 19, and come from all parts of Vestfold county.

Tønsberg City Cathedral's girls' choir is known for it's outstanding quality and broad musical spectrum. The choir focuses on vocal training and instruction in the musical techniques necessary to achieve a breadth of musical expression. In order to provide a stimulating environment for the young women, the choir has participated in a number of projects in which they have an opportunity to work with a variety of artists. Several well-known singers from the district have had their start in the Cathedral's girls' choir.
